Dear Friend of Frog Hollow and South Green:
Thanks to you for more than 30 years, Broad-Park Development Corporation has worked tirelessly to make Frog Hollow and South Green the best places they can be to live, work and raise a family. Our mission of Improving Neighborhoods Through Community Revitalization has been realized time and again through the development and management of high-quality affordable housing; by helping our neighbors secure financing to help make their dreams come true; and by collaborating with our many partners on groundbreaking neighborhood improvement initiatives.
As someone who, like Broad-Park, is vitally vested in our community’s future, you should know about some significant changes in the way we go about fulfilling our mission. We are pleased to inform you that commencing July, 1, 2009, our long-time community ally, Mutual Housing Association of Greater Hartford, will assume management responsibilities for all 284 apartment and commercial units owned by Broad-Park Development Corporation here in Hartford.
What does this mean for our tenants and for our community? For our tenants, it means that their homes and places of business will be managed and maintained by an organization whose commitment to excellence and a healthy, vibrant community is, like Broad-Park, unshakeable. Mutual Housing and Broad-Park share similar missions – we know our community, our people, and will work hard on their behalf. For the broader community, the news is also good: This change represents a strategic business decision that will allow Broad-Park to focus all its energies on its core mission, including the ongoing exploration of innovative approaches and creative collaborations that will keep Broad-Park a vital part of our community’s revitalization for years to come.
Broad-Park Development Corporation is committed to our community and we are here to stay. Please do not hesitate to call me at (860) 249-0649, ext. 1002, should you have any questions. We thank you for your many years of support and collaboration in making Hartford a vibrant, vital community.
Sincerely,
L Raquel Rivera
Executive Director
